Zion Williamson storms out of NBA media day after bizarre question as fans ask New Orleans Pelicans star ‘why do that?’

The forward was taking part in the Pelicans scheduled day in a press conference in front of reporters on Monday.

He was oddly asked why he was no longer listening to music star Kendrick Lamar during the offseason.

Williamson was questioned why songs ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Not Like Us’ weren’t on his workout playlist.

And he reacted with shock at the remarks, laughing during the cringeworthy moment.

“Jesus Christ. What made you ask that second question?,” asked Williamson.

“I just feel like you had two good songs you could have been playing in the gym,” replied the journalist.

“Euphoria’ and ‘Not Like Us.’ I’m trying to understand.

“Where was the greatness of the summer in your tracklist? I’m confused.

Williamson was clearly taken aback by the question, and had fun with his reply.

“I hear you. But you know, you’re entitled to your opinion,” he said.

“I’m entitled to mine. But saying that, c’mon, it’s Kendrick Lamar.

“Like, I really gotta sit up here and talk about how good of an artist he is?”

Williamson then walked off the stage, ending the press conference early than expected in the process.

The incident had happened after the reporter had followed up on another question by a journalist.

What the new TV deal means for the NBA?

By The U.S. Sun’s Assistant Sports Editor Damian Burchardt.

THE new TV rights deal is promising to be a humongous win for NBA players.

The league is set to more than double the revenue coming from its media partners, pocketing about $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap spike in 2025-26.

That is going to send the value of player contracts skyrocketing.

Projected figures suggest we might see the first $100 million-per-year deal being signed soon.

Currently, Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is projected to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, collecting $71.5 million in 2029-30.

If TNT Sports successfully matches one of the offers to maintain its decades-long partnership with the league, hoops fans will be on the winning side too.

The network’s flagship, Inside the NBA, is a one-of-a-kind sports entertainment show, as evidenced by ESPN’s ongoing failure to come up with its own version of the program in recent years.

The NBA wouldn’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s never-ending bickering every Tuesday night.

They had asked him what he was listening over the summer to prepare for the NBA season.

“I feel like I’ve kind of been all over with music,” said Williamson.

“A lot of Currensy. I feel when I started training, I feel like Currensy was heavy in the mix.”

Fans reacted with shock on social media at the incident, calling it “cringe”.

One X user said: “As a kendrick fan that reporter was glazing on a different level.”

Another added: “Why is a grown man worried about another man’s playlist?

“Is everyone supposed to listen to NLU and euphoria?”

A third replied: “Why did he walk off though?”
