Zara is launching a secondhand service that allows customers to sell, repair, or donate clothing, promoting sustainability and waste reduction.

Inditex, Zara’s parent company, is extending its ‘Pre-Owned’ platform to the U.S., in early November following successful rollouts in 16 European countries since its U.K. debut in November 2022. This is accessible through Zara stores, its website, and a dedicated app.

Zara describes the service…

“Zara Pre-owned is a platform that offers repair services, customer-to-customer sales and donations of used garments, with the aim of extending their useful life. This service is currently available in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, The United Kingdom, and the US, and we will shortly be incorporating it into new markets, with the commitment to making it operational in all strategic markets by 2025.“

“You may have Zara garments you no longer wish to wear, but someone else would love to give them a new life. With this customer-to-customer service, you can resell your Zara items or buy second-hand items so they last longer and extend their useful life.“

The pre-owned service is set to expand to additional countries in 2025.
