IT’S been a vacuum favourite since its release back in 1981.
But cleaning fans are only just realising there’s a special feature on the back of Henry Hoovers that makes them a whole lot easier to store.
Gem explained that it was only when she saw a friend’s video that she realised she could make her life easier, and rushed to test it out.
She then took to her own TikTok page to share a clip of herself testing it out.
“I was reminded today that I was 41 when I found out what this was for,” she wrote over the top.
In the video, she was seen lifting up the hose of the hoover, before sliding a nob on the back of the head into a slot on the back of the device itself.
When she did so, the hoover hose stood up on its own, and made it easier to cart around, and also to store.
And Gem certainly wasn’t the only person who didn’t know about the hidden bonus.
“Literally just ran to my hoover to see and it literally does,” one wrote, amazed.
“You are a genius – did not know this, had that hoover 2 years!” another added.
“I’m 43 – and I’ve just found this out,” a third commented.
“Omg whaaaattt!!” someone else said.
“I’m 70 and just found out,” another marvelled.
“EXCUSE ME??? I’ve owned a Hetty for 3 years… ugh thank you for saving my life,” someone else added.
“Oh stop it, no way!” another wrote.
“Shuuuuut upppp! running to my henry now!” someone else commented.
However, not everyone was impressed with the discovery, as one wrote: “Did this once, hit the pole off every door frame I went through.
“Never did it again tbh!”

“Yet it always pops out,” another sighed.
“So annoying!”
“I have one of these & I hate it…its really hard to use,” a third moaned.
Despite so many people being unaware of the Henry feature, it’s actually listed on the official website.
“When the mess is gone, Henry Home packs neatly and tidily away with on-board tool and cable storage,” they said of the original Henry hoover.
