Woody Johnson is the real name for Robert Wood Johnson IV, an American businessman, philanthropist, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. He is part of the distinguished Johnson family and is, concurrently, the great-grandson of the founder of Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical company whose name is synonymous worldwide. Beyond family legacy, however, Johnson is probably best known as the owner of the NFL’s New York Jets, which he bought in 2000 for a then-record $635 million.
