A Japanese BBQ steakhouse was left badly damaged when a motorist in reverse slammed through its front doors in San Gabriel Monday night.
The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. at Hibiki BBQ on 529 E. Valley Blvd.
Video showed a white Toyota sedan came to a stop about halfway into the restaurant.
A table struck by the vehicle caused a minor injury to one person inside the restaurant, which was open for business at the time, a spokesperson for the San Gabriel Police Department told KTLA. No other injuries were reported.
The driver fled the scene after the crash but was located nearby and taken into custody without incident, according to the spokesperson. The driver was identified only as a female adult.
There was no immediate word on what caused the crash, or if drugs or alcohol were factors.
