Wild footage has emerged of Robbie Williams ‘kissing’ an Australian television reporter on her first day at work.
Robbie Williams, 50, was 27 years old when he appeared on Channel V in 2000.
A video posted to Instagram on Monday showed a young ponytail-wearing Osher Günsberg introducing reporter Yumi Stynes to the world-famous musician in front of a screaming live audience.
“This is Yumi’s first day,” Osher began, introducing the pop star to the young reporter.
Robbie held Yumi’s gaze as he shook her hand and said, “What a pleasure to meet you.” Are we going to kiss?’
Yumi nodded and the British pop star leaned in for a long, open-mouthed kiss, to the apparent shock of both Osher and the studio audience.
After coming up for air, a seemingly impressed Yumi fanned herself with a sheet of paper.
Despite comments about the resurfaced footage of the kiss suggesting the Angels singer would be “arrested” for the move in 2024, the surprise moment was actually orchestrated by Yumi herself.

The 49-year-old podcaster and author has since revealed that she actually set up the kiss to secure her job on the music TV channel.
She then worked as a chef, answered a Melbourne newspaper ad and queued with hundreds of other TV candidates before being called back for a second live audition in Sydney.
She was one of eight finalists in line for the job on Australia’s own 24-hour music TV channel.

The podcaster and author had asked the Angels singer backstage if he would ‘match’ her to perform the steamy stunt, and offered her the job
“They said we’re pretty sure the person you’re going to interview for your live interview is going to be Robbie Williams,” Yumi shared. The Guardian as she recalled her career-making moment.
“I remember thinking, ‘Oh, Robbie Williams, he’s kind of a big deal.’
‘I thought: if I was really going to interview Robbie Williams, what would I ask him? I really thought that if I wanted to represent women like me, I would ask him if I could kiss him.”
She described the atmosphere backstage as quite calm, with only Osher, a producer in a headset, Robbie and his manager in the room.

After asking Robbie if they could ‘pash’ on stage, Robbie’s manager had to explain to the star what ‘pash’ meant.
“Oh kissing, oh yes. OK. I better take a coin then,’ said Robbie.
“We shouted action and the cameras started rolling. And before I had a chance to ask him anything, Robbie said, “So we’re going to kiss?”
‘He grabbed me, did a ballroom dance dip and planted a big, wet, open-mouth kiss on my mouth. Everyone started shouting and it was chaos.”
When the canal was about to break, Robbie grabbed her and kissed her for the second time.
She claimed the seven other finalists at the Foxtel office knew Yumi had sealed herself the job with that kiss.
At the time of the interview, the former Take That singer was five years into his solo career and was reaching the height of his fame on the Weddings, Barmitzvahs & Stadiums Tour in support of his third studio album, Sing When You’re Winning.
