In what would be the third assassination attempt on the Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump, a person named Vem Miller has been detained by the police.
Police arrested Vem Miller outside a Donald Trump rally in Coachella Valley, California, on Saturday, and it is suspected that he is involved in a potential assassination attempt against the former president.
Vem Miller has, however, refuted all the charges and stated that he had no intent of causing harm to Trump and that he was a supporter of the Republican candidate.
Vem Miller said,
“These accusations are complete bull****. I’m an artist; I’m the last person that would cause any violence or harm to anybody.”
What prompted Riverside police to arrest Miller?
Police arrested Miller at 5 p.m., about half a mile from the rally site. Initial reports revealed that Miller managed to pass the outer perimeter security checkpoint using false VIP and media credentials.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco detailed how the police officers stopped Miller’s black SUV after seeing that the vehicle was in disarray and also carried fake license plates. Upon closer scrutiny, it was discovered that Miller possessed multiple driver’s licenses and passports with different names. Deputies also recovered a loaded handgun, shotgun, and high-capacity magazine in Miller’s SUV. All the weapons and ammunition were unregistered.
Sheriff Bianco described Vem Miller as a lunatic and held fringe anti-government views. The sheriff also revealed that Miller was a member of a right-wing group called the “sovereign citizen” movement, which does not accept the authority of the government.
However, as per a report by the media house Fox News, sources from the Trump campaign team stated that there has been no assassination attempt at the rally and that Miller was taken into custody without any incident. Trump was never in danger since he was speaking behind bulletproof glass at the event, a precaution considering two assassination attempts in the past.
Miller is being held at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine and was released on bail later on the same day. He will be produced in court at the Indio Larson Justice Center in January. Sheriff Bianco also stated that the local police investigations are almost complete, and any further charges will come from federal authorities.

Vem Miller resides in Las Vegas and is 49 years old. His LinkedIn profile states that he is a content producer, documentary filmmaker, and investigative journalist and claims to have worked for major networks like Netflix and VICE Media.
He also dabbled in music video production and has collaborated with artists such as DMX and Trey Songz. His social media presence shows his leanings toward prominent conservative figures like Steve Bannon, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Nigel Farage. He also ran for a state assembly seat in Nevada’s District 13 as a Republican in 2022, though he ended up losing the election. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, he was troubled with voter fraud issues.

There have been two assassination attempts on the former US President and Republican nominee, Donald Trump. The first attempt in July almost took the life of the former president as the bullet grazed his earlobes. Thankfully, the Secret Service personnel were able to neutralize the assassin in a short period.
Later in September, another man was charged with trying to kill the former US president. Secret Service personnel were able to discover the would-be assassin hiding with a rifle near Trump’s Palm Beach golf course. He was arrested after a brief chase and has pleaded not guilty.
