Two hunters were airlifted to safety after suffering heat-related injuries in rural Riverside County.

According to RSO, the two individuals, who were hunting at the time, were experiencing heat-related injuries and were unable to continue their expedition.

The temperature where they were located was 112 degrees at the time, officials said.

Both hunters were bravely hoisted into the air unit by Rescue Team 9 and flown to awaiting medical personnel with the Palm Springs Fire Department.

The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
