Vicksburg Junior High School girls’ basketball team improved to 2-0 after defeating Pearl 41-25 on Thursday.
Madisyn Kimble came out hot in the first quarter and knocked down two 3-pointers while Alaina Williams hit a couple of shots. By halftime, the Missy Gators had a 26-9 lead with the help of Williams and Aaliyah Mims.
Coming out of halftime, Mims took over things as she scored eight points in the third quarter. Ke’Andra Turner also hit a layup as well as Williams. The fourth quarter mainly consisted of defense as VJHS quickly took home the win.
Williams led with 13 points and Mims finished with 12 on the board. Kimble put up 11 points while Keasia Hatchett hit three free throws and Turner ended the night with two points.
The Missy Gators are led by Head Coach Jennifer Stewart and they will travel to play Clinton on Monday.
