(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Monday, Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. Vista Ridge High School (VRHS) will unveil its new academic wing after more than a year of construction.
According to School District 49 (D49), the new wing will be for Career and Technical Education (CTE) program-based learning. The Colorado Department of Education said CTE prepares students for postsecondary opportunities in fields like; agriculture, engineering, skilled trades, finance, hospitality, and health science.
The new space is on the south side of VRHS and is two stories with 18 classrooms. D49 said the expansion will increase VRHS capacity by around 450 students.
