Opting for October 1 as the start date of transformation, TikTokers have taken on the concept of January 1 and brought it forwards.

Gen Z seem to be responsible for trying to shift the mindset of winter as a place of comfort and instead to getting a head start on January.

The overall focus seems to be developing healthy habits and working on resolutions.

TikToker Carly Berges posted a video about jumping on the trend which has existed in the fitness realm for a while and the short clip has now been watched more than four million times.

Carly explained the trend: “Starting on 1 October, you have three months or 90 days until the end of the year to get super laser focused on your goals, your personal development, your growth so that by the time the new year rolls around, you’re already coming out a whole other beast.”

Another user @lenalifts succinctly explained: “Our new 1 January is 1 October”.

A doctor has suggested users focus on a smaller number of goals to ensure they accomplish what they set out to do[/caption]

An internal medicine physician in Los Angeles, has revealed the best way to manage your own goals when following the latest trend.

Dr Nicole Van Groningen has suggested limiting the number of goals because the “pitfall” is often “trying to do way too much”.

She told the New York Post: “I saw this lovely girl had all these amazing goals that she wanted to do — about eight different habits that she wanted to implement on a daily basis — including changes to her sleep routine, fitness routine, nutrition, goals around journaling, around work stuff, around hobbies.

“I get there’s this huge dopamine hit that we get when we set a ton of goals for ourselves and we’re imagining this new and improved version of ourselves that’s just gonna wake up overnight and do, like, all the right things.

“It takes a lot of self-control to say, ‘I’m actually not going to do that. Let me just focus on this one thing, or two things, or maybe three small things, that would be the challenge that I submit to you, because as much as I love an opportunity for positive behaviour change, keep it small.”
