Victim identified in possible hit-and-run along Pitt Co. highway

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has identified the person found along Belvoir Highway after an apparent hit-and-run on September 25. NCSHP identified the pedestrian as 40-year-old Alejandro Corona Meza of Greenville, NC. 

The collision remains under investigation. Anyone with any information surrounding this incident is asked to contact the North Carolina State Highway Patrol at (252) 752-6118.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers responded to Belvoir Highway in Pitt County Wednesday for a possible hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the shoulder of Old Pactolus Highway near Redmond Ln. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol worked with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office to gather evidence at the scene.

Identification of the body is still unknown at this time. The NCSHP is investigating the fatality and asks anyone with information to contact them at (252) 752-6118.
