Vicksburg High School’s ninth-grade boys’ basketball team knocked off Pearl 51-33 on Thursday night. The Gators quickly bounced back from Monday’s loss and finished out on top on Thursday.
Deonta Selvy Jr. led the Gators with 16 points which consisted of two 3-pointers as well. Jalen Stewart finished the night with eight points while Montrell Cook added six on the board. Landon Davis scored five points and Jordan Cruthirds ended the night with four points. Jayden Stewart finished with two points.
The Gators are now 1-1 on the season under Head Coach Julius Williams and they will host Clinton on Monday. On Thursday, VHS will also host the Brandon Bulldogs.
