University Student Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Getting Stabbed Multiple Times by Boyfriend
A Harare man is on the run after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times with a kitchen knife.
Webster Mubati brutally attacked 25-year-old Audrey Nyasha Rwambiwa over the weekend after she returned home late from a party in Harare.
Audrey, a student at Women’s University in Africa, was hospitalized and is currently fighting for her life at Parirenyatwa Hospital.

Late Return Sparks Violence
The incident occurred at Tanaka Place on Josiah Chinamano Avenue, where Audrey had been living with her boyfriend, Webster Mubati.
According to reports, the attack was triggered when Audrey returned home around 3 a.m. on Saturday after attending a party at a friend’s home the previous night. Webster, enraged by her late arrival, began assaulting her.
Brutal Stabbing: Webster Stabs Girlfriend with a Knife in Fit of Rage
During the altercation, in a fit of rage, Webster reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Audrey multiple times. He stabbed her on her left breast, finger, arm, and ribs. Desperate to escape, Audrey ran into the toilet, but Webster followed and continued the attack, stabbing her on the back and left shoulder.
Audrey managed to lock herself in the bathroom and later broke a window to escape. She sought help from neighbors, who quickly responded and rushed her to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where she is currently being treated for her injuries.

Police Investigate and Hunt for Suspect
Webster fled the scene after the attack, and the police are now searching for him. Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident and called for information that may lead to Webster’s arrest.
“Police are investigating an attempted murder case involving a university student who was stabbed by her lover. The suspect fled after the attack, and the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Inspector Chakanza.
