GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Some supporters of former President Trump arrived at the Greenville rally as early as 5 a.m. Monday, which was 10 hours ahead of Trump’s scheduled speech.
Early voting is in full swing in North Carolina with some supporters saying that now is the time to support who you’re voting for more than ever. Minges Coliseum was decked out in red ‘ Make America Great Again’ gear. Supporters said that Trump’s policies are what keeps them motivated to cast their vote for him next month.
“I like the stance on the border. That’s what my suit’s about. It’s a brick suit for, it’s a metaphor for life, one Trump supporter said. “And I never thought it would be a huge issue again. but under Harris, the border has deteriorated so bad that every state is now a border state. Don’t go to the polls and pick up the stuff people hand you without going and seeing if there are Democrat or Republican. I don’t love anybody unless I know what their, their thing is. I’m not an Independent. I’m a full-fledged Republican.”
Monday’s attendees traveled far and wide to hear the former President speak. Some traveled from Pink Hill, Wilmington and Raleigh. Others from further distances like San Francisco and Nevada. They said they’ll continue supporting the Trump campaign through Election Day.
North Carolina is one of seven key battleground states. Before Monday’s visit, a WNCT Emerson Poll showed that Trump was down just one point behind Kamala Harris.
