The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has ordered the suspension of three senior Kaduna State officials following allegations of false asset declarations, pending their trial.
Spokeswoman for the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Veronica Kato, in a statement said Samuel Peter, Acting Commissioner for Internal Security; Shizzer Bada, Commissioner for Finance; and Tijjani Abdullahi, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, were directed to step down from their positions.
“This decision is pending the hearing and determination of a motion filed on October 21, 2024, alongside charges brought against them by the CCB.
“The Tribunal delivered this ruling on October 22, 2024, following an ex parte application submitted by the Code of Conduct Bureau regarding allegations of violations of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, CAP C1 LFN 2004.

“The order also directs the governor and Secretary to the Government (SGG) to appoint suitable individuals to fill the vacant positions. The Bureau took action after receiving a petition against some senior Kaduna State government officials for various infractions of the Code of Conduct for public officers,” Kato said.
She said that following comprehensive investigations, the CCB has approached the tribunal to initiate trials and the trio will be arraigned in court on Thursday, 7th of November, 2024.
