Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest On Drug, Gun Charges

23-year-old Dillon James Shaver of Salisbury was arrested Wednesday (October 9) by Troutman Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, possess, sell, or buy a gun with an altered serial number and possession of a stolen firearm.

He’s also charged with two misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed gun and single misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce.

On Wednesday at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Shaver on Talley Street near Ruffin Loop in Troutman. Officers searched the vehicle and found 4.83 grams of methamphetamine and two firearms. One of the firearms was found to be reported stolen out of Rockwell, N.C. while the other firearm had the serial numbers removed.

Shaver was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under $15,000 secured bond. A District Court date is set for October 29.
