Tom Brady finally handed non-Dallas Cowboys game as Fox NFL broadcast assignments for Week 4 are revealed

TOM Brady will finally get to call a game that doesn’t feature the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has began his Fox NFL career with three straight games featuring ‘America’s Team’.

But this weekend he will return to one of his former teams for a Week 4 showdown.

The ex-quarterback will be part of Fox’s coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles’ clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1pm ET.

Brady will join Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews, Tom Rinaldi and Dean Blandino on the call.

That team has so far been on Cowboys games against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 and Baltimore Ravens in Week 3.

Fox is broadcasting six games across the 1pm and 4.05pm windows in Week 4.

The other three Fox games in the 1pm ET slot are Rams vs Bears, Saints vs Falcons and Bengals vs Panthers.

The decision to have Brady not on the Cowboys in Week 4 was mostly taken out of Fox’s hands.

The Dallas Cowboys play Thursday night against the New York Giants in a game which Amazon Prime is showing.

Fox’s second team of Joe Davis, Greg Olsen and Pam Oliver will be on the San Francisco 49ers’ game against the New England Patriots at 4.05pm ET.

The Washington Commanders will take on the Arizona Cardinals in Fox’s other game in that window.

Brady’s career in the broadcast booth has gotten off to a shaky start.

His knowledge of the game and insight have added a new dimension to Fox’s coverage which fans have appreciated.

The former quarterback was told he has “to get more excited” by NFL Red Zone host Scott Hanson in Week 1.

Hanson later apologized for his words, saying he was “inconsiderate.”

The Tom Brady domino effect

Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox’s top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

  • Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
  • Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
  • Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
  • Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

The Red Zone host admitted, “This was unfair & inconsiderate by me.

“Yes, I was saying it tongue in cheek – but I didn’t calculate how it may come across.

Tom Brady, I apologize. I promise I am rooting you on in this new venture.”

Brady issued a classy response to Hanson’s message, saying “no apology necessary.”

“This rookie appreciates you,” Brady said. “Life is too short to not have fun.

“We’re officially on 70 yarder watch and I’m gonna spike my headset when it happens.”
