Thursday Night Football coverage slammed as ’embarrassing’ as NFL fans rage at Amazon Prime’s Cowboys-Giants game

NFL fans are fed up with the coverage of Thursday Night Football.

The Dallas Cowboys took down the New York Giants on Thursday night, but fans were more focused on the poor coverage of the game.

Amazon Prime Video broadcasts Thursday Night Football every week, and it is one of the lesser-enjoyed prime time games of the week.

Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels have the broadcasting duties, and NFL fans have grown tired of Michaels in recent years.

The conversation surrounding the game started on X with a post from Sports Illustrated analyst Michael Fabiano.

“In all seriousness… this is embarrassing for the NFL,” he wrote.

Thursday night’s game was full of hiccups on the field alongside the coverage from Amazon.

The Giants didn’t manage to score a single touchdown, and the Cowboys were barely able to beat a struggling New York team.

Alongside that, flags were flying left and right, and it felt like there was no more than 30 seconds of game time before things were interrupted by another penalty.

Fans were quick to agree with Fabiano’s sentiment, and shared their qualms about the game on social media.

“Get rid of TNF and make every Monday night a double header been saying it for years,” one fan said.

“TNF is a bad product, and terrible on the road team,” another fan said.

“Fr fr, this a bad look for the whole league. They gotta get it together asap!” a third fan said.

“The product has been SO bad this year. Primetime especially,” a fourth fan said.

“Just get rid of Thursdays games seriously. Players hate it, they always underperform and they usually get hurt! Just saying,” a fourth fan said.

The sloppiness of the game took some of the heat off of the usually-criticized Thursday night broadcast, as Michaels went off on the amount of flags.

“It looks like June 14th here, otherwise known as Flag Day, as you know,” he said in the first half of the game.

“We’ve got another flag. You have two more flags in the backfield. No more laundry left… And any number of calls coming your way,” he said just minutes after the previous call.

The flags flew over and over again during the game, and Michaels was audibly fed up with the product he was watching on the field.

“You’re kidding,” he said at the sight of more flags.

“You’re going to need some new flags to throw in the second half. These ones are filthy.”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons face off on Thursday Night Football next week, and hopefully they will give fans a better display than the Cowboys and Giants did.
