The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported sexual assault of a teenage girl that allegedly occurred in a storage unit in Fort Walton Beach.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident began on September 30 around 6:30 p.m. when the teen left a Mountain Dew on the curb outside a convenience store at 1209 Miracle Strip Parkway.
- The victim told deputies she walked away briefly to say goodbye to a friend and returned about ten minutes later to drink her soda.
The teen reported feeling woozy and blacking out shortly after consuming the drink. She says she regained consciousness in a storage unit on Hollywood Boulevard, where she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man.
The suspect is described as a 6’2″ tall Black male with a short full beard and dreadlocks. The victim reported that he was driving a white van. According to the teen’s account, the suspect dropped her off at 9 Eglin Parkway around 8:30 p.m.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in the investigation.
