Teen petrol station worker, 18, hit by fleeing car after trying to stop driver leaving without paying – as cops arrest 2

A TEENAGE petrol station staff member is fighting for his life after he was mowed down by a fleeing car.

A man and a teenager have been arrested after they hit the 18-year-old as they tried to leave the pumps without paying.

The staff member is in a critical condition in hospital[/caption]

The 31-year-old man was arrested in London and is in custody.

An 18-year-old man who was arrested in Essex yesterday is now in police custody in West Yorkshire.  

The injured man remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Police were called at 2:22am on Sunday, 20 October, to the Esso petrol station on Castleford Road, Normanton, to a report that a staff member had been hit by a vehicle after coming out of the shop to stop the driver of a black Audi who was driving off without paying for their fuel.
