And he begged his co-stars to finish a highlights package for him while he put his hand on his throat in agony.

Fitzpatrick joined the Thursday Night Football team for the broadcast of an NFC West showdown.

The San Francisco 49ers visited their division rival the Seattle Seahawks to kick off Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season.

Ex-quarterback Fitzpatrick took his spot on set alongside Charissa Thompson, Tony Gonzalez, Andrew Whitworth and Richard Sherman.

The 41-year-old lost his voice during the pre-game show on Prime.

But he tried to carry on as usual despite clearly struggling.

San Francisco led 16-3 at halftime when the crew broke down the first two quarters.

Fitzpatrick was asked by host Thompson for his thoughts on Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith.

“It’s been a bit of a struggle for him, just like my voice,” Fitz said as he put his hand on his chest and grimaced.

His co-stars laughed while Fitzpatrick also smiled through his pain.

Deebo Samuel’s first-half touchdown played on the screen while Fitz struggled to speak.

And he asked, “Can you guys take this highlight for me, please?”

His teammates rode to his rescue – much to Fitzpatrick’s relief.

Amazon is the current rights holder for Thursday Night Football in the United States.

This week’s game saw the 49ers run out 36-24 winners at their rivals.

Both teams were left with a 3-3 record after San Francisco’s win to kick off Week 6.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns.

Deebo Samuel finished with 102 yards and a touchdown, while George Kittle had 58 yards and two scores.

“When everyone’s on point and we’re doing our thing, we’re a hard team to beat,” Purdy said.

But San Francisco did lose running back Jordan Mason to a shoulder injury.
