Shohei Ohtani vs Juan Soto: The $1.3 billion combined duo fighting for World Series glory – but who will be on top?

THE 2024 World Series tees off on Friday night, and it is a matchup between MLB’s two powerhouses.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees will compete for the title of World Champions.

Not only is it a matchup of MLB‘s two best teams, but it is a matchup of the league’s biggest stars.

Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, and Aaron judge are all represented in this seven-game series.

It should be one of the most exciting World Series in recent memory, and to decide who is going to win we need to take a look at each team’s players.

The Dodgers of course have the best player in baseball in Shohei Ohtani.

The Japanese sensation had an incredible regular season, batting to a .310 average with 59 home runs and 130 RBI. He also stole 59 bases during the season.

He is playing just as well in the postseason, hitting .286 with three home runs and 10 RBI in just 11 games.

The Yankees on the other hand have Juan Soto, a 26-year-old star who is up there as one of the best in baseball.

He hit .288 this season with 41 home runs, 109 RBI, and 128 runs scored.

Soto is turning things up during the postseason, hitting .333 with three home runs and eight RBI in just nine games.

The Yankees also have Aaron Judge in their lineup, an absolute monster who hit .322 this season with 58 home runs, 144 RBI, and 122 runs scored.

Judge isn’t as strong in the playoff as he was in the regular season, hitting just .161 with two home runs and six RBI in nine games.

He is always a threat to rip a home run and the Dodgers will be weary of him.

One of the more underrated stars of the World Series is Giancarlo Stanton.

Stanton hit .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBI in the regular season, but he has been the best hitter in the playoffs.

He is hitting .294 with five home runs and 11 RBI in nine games, catching fire early in the NLDS.

The Yankees may have more stars on paper in their lineup than the Dodgers, but the Dodgers have been getting help from everyone in the lineup.

They have hit the most home runs in the postseason with 20, have the second-highest team batting average at .251, and have scored the most runs at 70.

The Dodgers also have a deadly pitching staff to contend with that threw two shutouts in the NLCS against the New York Mets.

The Yankees also have a solid pitching staff, but it hasn’t faced a lineup as strong as the Dodgers yet this postseason.

It will be a tight series that has the potential to go to seven games, but I see the Dodgers taking home the World Series this year.
