SHILO Sanders is still on the hook for $11 million that he owes to a former school security guard.
A federal judge has denied Sanders’ attempt to dismiss a complaint from the security guard.

This is the second time that the son of Deion Sanders has attempted to dismiss the complaint from former security guard John Darjean.
The first time was in June of this year, and Judge Michael Romero dismissed some parts of the case but allowed Darjean to amend them and refile the complaint.
Sanders’ attorneys have since asked the judge to dismiss the amended portions of the complaint.
The judge did not grant this request though, allowing Darjean’s case to go to trial as he attempts to block Sanders from getting out of paying the $11 million.
The Colorado Buffaloes player filed for bankruptcy last October in response to the $11 million in damages related to his alleged assault on Darjean.
“Darjean sufficiently identified assets that were at one time owned by the Sanders but are no longer available to pay creditors because they are not listed in the schedules,” the judge wrote in the ruling Monday.
“As to those specific omitted assets, the Court finds Darjean has sufficiently stated a claim under (the law).”
The judge’s ruling focused on Sanders’ NIL deals, and whether or not he hid some of them in the bankruptcy case.
Darjean is arguing that if any deals were omitted from the case that it would serve as grounds to deny Sanders the discharge of his debt.
Debtors are prohibited from destroying or hiding financial records under law.
“Darjean asserts in the Amended Complaint that Sanders made certain social media posts about paid promotional appearances and displaying certain jewelry and other assets, which he later deleted,” the judge wrote.
Sanders’ attorneys tried to dismiss this claim as well, but it was denied after the judge noted that Sanders did not produce certain records in the bankruptcy proceedings.
“In this case, Sanders’s business and income is derived from his NIL rights,” the judge wrote.
“If Sanders does monetize his NIL rights through social media posts, as alleged by Darjean, those posts could be construed as business records.
“Thus, Darjean’s allegations about deletion of social media posts may support his… claim.

“The Court will therefore deny Sanders’s Renewed Motion to dismiss the… claim to the extent it is based on records in the Trustee’s Motion for Turnover and social media posts.”
By filing for bankruptcy, Sanders is hoping to “fresh start in life, free from the oppressive burden of his debts,” according to his attorneys.
Darjean is trying to stop that from happening to ensure Sanders is required to pay the $11 million from the case stemming back to his alleged 2015 assault on the security guard.
He claims that Sanders gave him permanent injuries after elbowing him in the chest while his phone was being confiscated.
Darjen sued Sanders for damages, but the case didn’t go to trial until 2022.
Sanders didn’t show up to the trial, but the court still proceeded and produced the $11 million default judgment against Sanders.
