Sam’s Club confirms all locations to be closed for 24 hours – and Costco won’t be much use for shoppers

SAM’S Club revealed that all locations will be closed for 24 hours, leaving many shoppers scrambling for alternatives.

The warehouse retailers have a set of holiday closures that could further complicate shopping plans, as confirmed by the Sam’s Club and Costco websites.

Sam’s Club will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, so shoppers should get their turkey and yams well beforehand.

Unsurprisingly, they also close on other major holidays, including New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.

This means that during these key holidays, Costco members will also need to plan ahead, as their favorite warehouses will not be open for shopping.

For those who typically rely on Sam’s Club for their holiday needs, the current closure adds an unexpected twist.

While Sam’s Club remains closed for significant holidays like New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, it also adjusts its hours during certain holidays.

On Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day, Sam’s Club opens for limited hours, with Plus members allowed entry at 8 am and Club members at 10 am, both closing at 6 pm.

OPEN GROCERY STORES

Thanksgiving is a time for family gatherings and feasting, but it’s also a day when many people find themselves in need of last-minute grocery items.

Thankfully, several grocery chains will be open to help those who need to stock up or make adjustments to their holiday meals.

ACME will have several locations operating from 7 am to 4 pm although it’s important to note that hours may vary by location, so checking ahead is recommended, Good Housekeeping reported.

Similarly, C-Town grocery stores will also be available, with many locations maintaining hours from 7 am to 4 pm, though, again, hours may differ by location.

Food Lion plans to keep many of its locations open, although some may close earlier than usual, so local shoppers should verify specific store hours.

For those who like to plan ahead, Food4Less stands out with its consistent hours, starting at 6 am and ending at midnight throughout the year.

Giant Food Store will remain open during regular hours on Thanksgiving, while Harris Teeter, on the other hand, will close by 2 pm so shoppers should aim to get their essentials earlier in the day.

H.E.B. will be open from 6 am to 12 pm, although its pharmacy will not operate on this holiday, holidayhours.com says.

Kroger stores will also be open, albeit with reduced hours, while Ralphs locations typically open as early as 6 am and close by 10 pm, giving shoppers ample time to pick up their last-minute items.

Stop & Shop will operate differently depending on the region: stores in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey will be open until 3 pm, but locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island will close for the day.

The Fresh Market will also welcome shoppers, although hours will depend on the specific location.

Finally, Whole Foods will be open with modified hours, allowing customers to grab any specialty items they might need for their Thanksgiving feast.
