Rebecca Gibney has given fans an update on her beloved mother Shirley’s health.
The Packed to the Rafters star, 59, recently took to Instagram to let her followers know that her mother is recovering in hospital after a fall.
Rebecca posted a photo of her mother lying in a hospital bed, smiling and giving a thumbs up.
Alongside the image, the New Zealand-born actress wrote that she had asked her mother for permission to share the photo.
“Mom said it’s okay to post this photo because she said it looks a lot worse than it is, but she did fall once and will be in the hospital again for a while. Nothing’s broken except a few cracks and bruises,” Rebecca said.
“I know how much she enjoys reading the comments and well wishes from all of you, so if you could send some prayers and a little love for Shirl, we would all appreciate it.”
‘Healing energy travels. Thanks for the love,” the Halifax fp actress added.
Last week she gave an update on Shirley’s progress, suggesting her mother would remain in hospital for a while longer.

‘Just an update. Mom will stay in the hospital for a few more weeks. Recovery is slow, but she is doing much better. Thank you for all the love,” she said in another Instagram post.
In the same Instagram post, Rebecca also took time to reflect on the “fragile state” of the world right now.
‘Greed, power, hatred, old men creating wars that no one wants. It can be overwhelming. But so does love, kindness and the pursuit of peace. Keep the faith. Do the thing. Life is precious. And love will find a way,” she wrote.

Earlier this week she gave an update on her Shirley’s progress, suggesting her mother would remain in hospital for a while longer.
It comes after Rebecca was recently inducted into the TV Week Logie Hall of Fame by her 19-year-old son Zac Bell, a milestone.
Rebecca spoke of her joy at taking home the award, saying she was ‘completely overwhelmed’ and ‘incredibly humbled’ by the honour.
“So last night has to be one of the best!” To be inducted into the Hall of Fame was never something I had even thought about and then to witness not only so many dear friends saying so many incredible things, followed by my son – because those watching you would seen my reaction,” she posted .

Rebecca said growing up as a girl ‘in a little one’ [New Zealand] city of enormous self-doubt’ it ‘meant the world’ to be honored in Australia.
“For a girl born in a small town in New Zealand with immense self-doubt to be honored in this way by a country I have lived in and loved since I was a teenager… has meant the world to me,” he added. them to it.
Rebecca is only the fourth woman in 64 years to ever be inducted into the TV Week Logie Hall of Fame, following Noni Hazlehurst, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and the late Ruth Cracknel.
Rebecca is best known for her role in the 2008 instant Aussie classic Packed to the Rafters as the nation’s favorite TV mum, Julie Rafters, while she has also appeared in local classics including The Flying Doctors, Halifax fp and Stingers .
