Raunchy series Rivals features Poldark Easter Egg for Aidan Turner fans – but did you spot it?

RAUNCHY series Rivals has been getting fans hot and bothered but their excitement will climax with the revelation of a Poldark Easter Egg.

Poldark‘s Aiden Turner, 41, stars in Rivals, which is based on Jilly Cooper’s sexy novels, as TV presenter Declan O’ Hara.

But eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Ross Poldark‘s on-screen home Trenwith also doubles as the set of The Priory in Disney+’s ‘romp-com’ series.

One asked: “Just started watching Rivals. Am I right that Aidan Turner’s character in Rivals moves into the same house as is used in Poldark for Trenwith?”

Indeed the set is one and the same – Grade I listed Chavenage House – as other fans pointed out.

One added: “Yes. I actually am talking to a lovely lady at Chavenage house about a visit for my wife and I. She confirmed that he has been back for Rivals.”

Another said: “Myself and husband both shouted “TRENWITH”

The ultra posh Elizabethan mansion was once a regular haunt of King Charles and Princess Anne and is owned by Caroline Lowsley-Williams.

But its association with Rivals is making it one of the steamiest set locations on TV.

Viewers are introduced to the house when the O’ Hara family move from London to fictional Rutshire uncovering a whole world of debauchery.

Declan, played by Aidan, is a BBC journalist known for his tough questioning and when he arrives in town things start to get interesting.

He and his wife Maud, portrayed by Victoria Smurfit, decide to swap the city for the countryside to start a new life as a family with their three children Patrick, Taggie and Caitlin.

From the very first scenes, viewers are in for a thrilling ride with scintillating scenes and an eighties soundtrack.

Rivals tells the story of the rivalry between Lord Tony Baddington the managing director of Corinium Television and Rupert Campbell-Black his biggest competition.

Tony is played by David Tennant, while womanising Rupert is a retired Olympian turned Tory MP and current sports minister, who gets excited by the arrival of the O’ Hara’s.

Tony offers Declan a job and he takes it up much to Maud’s dismay.

Before she met Declan, Maud was a successful actress but turned her back on her career to have children.
