A RAILWAY blaze has sparked travel chaos as trains are severely impacted.
Flames erupted on Wednesday afternoon with thick black plumes of smoke rising into the air near the tracks in Stevenage.
All lines passing through the Hertfordshire town have been cancelled.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was dealing with a blaze alongside the track in London Road.
Great Northern, the train provider which is responsible for Stevenage railway station, said: “Great Northern and Thameslink services are not able to run until further notice between Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City and Hertford North.”
