Powerball warning to check numbers as prize worth $50,000 remains unclaimed – and ticket was sold at convenience store


Powerball warns customers to check their numbers as soon as possible as a ticket bought at a convenience store worth thousands is yet to be claimed.

Lottery prizes in Maryland state yet to be claimed include a ticket with a staggering $50,000 sum.

The winning ticket was sold on Saturday, September 28 in White Marsh, according to the state’s lottery officials.

The player purchased it from the Royal Farms store on Nottingham Drive.

Across Maryland, the local lottery has paid over $27.3 million in prizes across September 23 – 29 alone.

Twenty four tickets valued at $10,000 or more were sold or claimed over the seven day period, reports the Nottingham MD.

Powerball urges the lucky winners to come forward after signing the backs of their tickets and storing them somewhere safe.

Tickets for Powerball draw games expire 182 days after the drawing.

It comes shortly after Mega Millions warned customers to check their numbers as soon as possible as a ticket worth millions was left unclaimed.

Lottery prizes in Delaware state yet to be claimed include a ticket with a staggering $4 million sum.

The ticket was bought at Redner’s Market in Camden and its drawing date was August 30, 2024.

Another Mega Millions ticket – with a prize of $10,000 – was bought at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle.


Its drawing date was January 19, 2024, reports Delaware Online.

The lucky few with the correct tickets  were told not to panic as they have ample time after purchasing the ticket to scoop their win.

Tickers are valid for up to a year after the drawing date for drawing game prizes or within a year of the announced end of sales, according to delottery.com.

However, Mega Millions has urged customers who have cut it too fine to check their numbers as soon as possible.

A $10,000-winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle – its drawing date was January 19, 2024.  

It’s not just Mega Millions customers that could be in luck – Powerball also has some unclaimed tickets worth astonishing sums.

A $150,000-winning Powerball ticket was bought at Shore Stop 263 – and its drawing date was April 20, 2024. 

A $100,000 winning ticket sold at Fenwick Island Goose Creek in Selbyville, drawn on August 19, 2024.
