ST. LOUIS – Police are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit and run in north St. Louis County Saturday evening.
The hit and run happened in the 5700 block of Goodfellow Place in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood a little before 8 p.m.
Police say their preliminary investigation indicates that a 63-year-old man in a wheelchair was crossing Goodfellow at St. Louis, in the crosswalk, when he was struck by a vehicle. That vehicle was traveling north on Goodfellow.
The man was then dragged to Goodfellow and Goodfellow Place. The unknown vehicle left the scene.
EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Accident Reconstruction is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
