Police in Orange County release photos of 7-Eleven flash-mob robbery suspects

Police in Orange County are asking for the public’s help in identifying more than a half-dozen suspects allegedly involved in a violent flash-mob-style robbery at a convenience store that left the clerk with serious injuries.

The terrifying Oct. 6 incident, which was filmed by a person just outside the store, occurred at an Anaheim 7-Eleven location at 550 South Knott Avenue, near the intersection of Orange Avenue, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

An estimated 40-50 suspects, believed to have been at a nearby street takeover, violently forced their way inside, assaulted the clerk several times and looted the store, stealing lottery tickets, cigarettes, beer and other merchandise, including the cash register.

Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter told KTLA that there were approximately 100 cars at the illegal street takeover, making it difficult for officers to get to the store in time to make any arrests.

“This incident has gained national attention from videos posted to social media,” a news release from the Anaheim PD stated. “Detectives are working aggressively on this case, conducting follow-up on several leads.”

Similar flash-mob-style robberies in Los Angeles, 14 of them between July 12 and Sept. 20, have yielded some arrests after parents spotted their kids in robbery footage released by LAPD and turned them in to authorities.

Detectives in Anaheim are asking anyone with information about this case or anyone who can identify any of the individuals in the above photos to contact APD at 714-328-8153.

Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the Orange County Crime Stoppers Hotline at 855-TIP-OCCS.
