Pitso Mosimane waxes lyrical over Kaizer Chiefs star

Pitso Mosimane has had his say on new Kaizer Chiefs playmaker Gaston Sirino, a player he knows well from their time together at Sundowns.

Jingles praises Chiefs star Sirino

33-year-old Uruguayan Gaston Sirtino recently joined Chiefs on a free transfer after a glittering six-year spell with Sundowns. He won 11 trophies in his time at Chloorkop including seven league titles on the bounce. Here’s what Pitso had to say about the mercurial left-footer who has already weighed in with two goals and three assists in four matches for the Glamour Boys:

“Class is permanent. Top talent, loves training has a lot of passion for the game and is opinionated. A bit emotional but manageable. A South American player,”

“He scores goals and has lots of assists, a very crucial ingredient in an attacking player.”

Pitso’s going to Iran

After having his Al Wahda contract ripped up after just 10 games, Pitso focused on family during Christmas 2023. He also discussed his short-term ambitions at the tail-end of what was an eventful year for Jingles. In 2024, he took up a short-term role with Abha Club in Saudi Arabia but they were relegated at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign. Now he’s got a new job!

Kaizer Chiefs face bogey team Sundowns next

Amakhosi’s recent results against the Brazilians don’t paint the prettiest picture. A controversial 2-1 win for Masandawana last time out extended their unbeaten streak against Chiefs to nine matches across all competitionsYou have to go back to April 2021 for Chiefs’ last win over Sundowns in any competition. Ironically, Uruguayan Gaston Sirino was a goal-scorer for Sundowns on that afternoon. Can he stick the knife into his former employers when the sides meet again? He’s returned from injury sooner than expected and got himself a goal against SuperSport which is a massive bonus for Nasreddine Nabi.
