NICK Knowles looks worlds away from Strictly in newly-emerged topless modelling snaps from 1989.
Presenter Nick, now 62, was just 27 when he bared his chest in a bid to become a Page 7 fella for The Sun.
Page 3’s companion feature, which featured images of shirtless male models, had just launched the previous year and a fresh-faced Nick was keen to get onboard.
The DIY SOS star, who we revealed today had described women in the North East as “munters”, stripped off to reveal a hairy chest and smouldered for the camera as he posed for a local photographer.
Unfortunately, his initial bid for stardom failed as he didn’t make the grade in either The Sun or the Daily Star, which had started a rival page too.
Nick later started as a runner in television production before moving into presenting, where he got his big break.
