NFL stars celebrate interception with handshake from iconic kids movie

Vikings' Camryn Bynum and Josh Metellus recreated the iconic

Minnesota Vikings stars Camryn Bynum and Josh Metellus recreated the handshake from the iconic children’s movie ‘The Parent Trap’ to celebrate an interception on Sunday.

The Vikings continued their perfect start to the season with a narrow 23-17 victory over the New York Jets in the first NFL game played in London this season.

Perhaps it was the location of the game that gave Bynum and Metellus the idea for their celebration, when the former intercepted a pass from Aaron Rodgers.

They stood in the end zone and recreated the famous moment from the iconic Disney movie starring Lindsay Lohan.

Lohan played dual roles as divorced twins Annie James and Hallie Parker in the 1998 divorce comedy.

Annie, who lived in London with their mother (played by Natasha Richardson), would perform the handshake with the family’s faithful butler, Martin.

She then taught it to Hallie, who lived with their father (Dennis Quaid) in California, to make sure no one would notice if they switched places after summer camp.

Bynum and Metellus didn’t miss a beat with the routine when they performed it Sunday and fans on social media went wild.

One wrote: ‘That’s a creative and nostalgic celebration. It’s impressive to see such unique credentials on the field. Great way to keep the spirit light and fun!

Another commented, “We’re bringing movie nostalgia to the field; I love it when the celebrations are as good as the plays!

‘That was epic! I love how they pulled it off so smoothly, like true pros!,” a third added

‘Classic party! Always nice to see players bringing some personality!’, said another.

A fifth said: ‘I love a classic. It’s nice that the film gets such a nod.’

The Jets trailed 17-0 early, but had a chance to drive for a potential game-winning score in the closing minutes. But Stephon Gilmore intercepted Rodgers’ pass intended for Mike Williams and the Vikings improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2016.

Van Ginkel grabbed Rodgers’ quick pass before breaking a tackle and outrunning the Jets linemen on the sideline. a score of 63 meters and a 10-0 lead.

Rodgers threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson to make it 20-17 with just over six minutes remaining before Vikings rookie kicker Will Reichard hit a 41-yard field goal – his third of the game.
