Instead, the Chiefs fans took over the stadium and made their presence known early in the day.

When the national anthem was being played at SoFi Stadium, Chiefs fans put on a display that could make a viewer think it was a Kansas City home game.

As singer Julian Torres finished the lyrics of the song, the Chiefs fans chimed in by putting their signature touch on the end of the national anthem.

When Torres got to the final verse of the song, singing “and the home of the brave,” Chiefs fans switched things up with their own chant.

“And the home of the CHIEFS!” they shouted in unison.

Chiefs fans showed out on social media to back up their fans and make fun of the Chargers for the display in their stadium.

“Ahh… Arrowhead West. It’s nice to have a beach-house,” one fan said.

“Damn I love that,” another fan said.

“Thanks for the home game :),” a third fan said.

“Nothing sweeter than hearing this in someone else’s building! Lets goooooooooo!” a fourth fan said.

“Sounds like a home game,” a fifth fan said.

The Chiefs won their “home game” against the Chargers on Sunday, overcoming an early 10-0 deficit.

Travis Kelce finally broke out during the game, catching seven passes for 89 yards, more than he had in the first three games of the season combined.

Patrick Mahomes‘ struggles continued though, as he only passed for 245 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

“We weren’t playing good. but I think the best thing is, no one talks about it and they start to now, but our defense is really good,” Mahomes said.

London calling

The New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings will kick off the NFL’s annual run of London fixtures this weekend.

New York and Minnesota will clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday October 6 at 2.30pm local time – 9.30am ET for fans back home in America.

It will be the first of three straight NFL Sundays that begin with an early game live from London.

The following week, Tottenham also plays host to the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Chicago Bears.

And on October 20, the Jags will head across town to Wembley Stadium to take on the New England Patriots.

“They know how to shut the door and keep us in games.

“Then they believe that the offense is going to find a way to score enough points at the end.”

Kelce should see more targets coming his way with the injury to wide receiver Rashee Rice.

Rice is feared to have torn his ACL during the win after colliding with Mahomes during a play.

If he does have a torn ACL, Rice will be out for the remainder of the season.
