MyProtein Advent Calendar review: the perfect affordable gift for any health and fitness obsessive

CHRISTMAS is creeping up on us, and you might already be looking forward to a season of overindulgence before crossing off another year.

And what better way to start the countdown than with an Advent calendar?

Countless premium calendars are now available to tempt those with even the most selective taste.

From high-end chocolate to cheese, biscuits and even booze, it seems there’s a calendar to suit every need.

But for those looking to enjoy a treat without the cheat, Advent calendar options are a touch more limited.

This brings me to my MyProtein Advent Calendar review.

As a confessed fitness fanatic, I was super excited by the opportunity to test out this year’s festive offering from MyProtein, and I haven’t been disappointed.

Pros

  • Great portion sizes
  • Good mix of protein powders
  • Neat and stylish packaging

Cons

  • Protein bar-heavy
  • Could have more value for money
  • Only one product from MyVitamins

Rating: 4.5/5

How I tested the MyProtein Advent Calendar

I’m currently in the middle of a three-month training plan culminating in a gruelling Hyrox race in December, so the MyProtein Advent Calendar has been a godsend.

Anyone who trains a lot will know how hard it is to hit your protein goals while maintaining a varied diet, and that’s where the MyProtein Advent calendar has come in handy.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve incorporated many of the products into my daily routine, using the protein bars and powders as pre or post-workout fuel and the supplements to support my recovery.

While the design of the calendar doesn’t scream “festive”, we were impressed by its contents[/caption]

Advent Calendar, £59.99 (worth £83.99) from Myprotein

If you’re looking to maintain your fitness goals but still want to indulge in festive treats, the MyProtein Advent Calendar is a great option.

Unlike your classic calorie-filled calendars, MyProtein offers a fitness-friendly alternative packed with high-protein goodies, supplements, and even some activewear essentials.

It’s perfect for fitness enthusiasts who want to stay on track during a time when it’s tempting to cheat.

The calendar features 25 days of surprises, ranging from protein bars and powders to vitamins and even workout accessories, providing everything you need to fuel your workouts and support recovery.

It isn’t your typical calendar. The packaging reflects MyProtein’s clean, simple branding, and while it doesn’t scream “festive,” it still looks great and offers good value for anyone trying to balance a cheeky Christmas treat with their fitness goals.

However, the calendar leans heavily on protein bars, which may not be ideal for those hoping for more variety from the vast MyProtein, MyVegan and MyVitamin range.

At £59.99, the MyProtein Advent Calendar isn’t cheap, either, but with a total product value of £84, it offers reasonable savings.

It’s true that you might find bigger discounts with other calendars, but MyProtein’s offering is still a thoughtful gift for fitness lovers or a fun way to treat yourself without compromising on your goals.

First impressions

The calendar has a sleek, minimalist design that fits perfectly with the MyProtein brand we all know and love.

While it doesn’t immediately give traditional Christmas vibes, it still looks stylish and the quality is what I’d expect at this price point.

What’s inside the MyProtein Advent Calendar?

Substance trumps style in this calendar.

I can confirm it’s full of goodies to keep you going through December, without feeling like you’re dieting too strictly during the Christmas period.

Inside, you’ll find an impressive mix of protein bars, powders, pre-workouts, and a few extra accessories, all included to enhance your fitness routine while keeping your energy levels up.

Whether you prefer a quick snack, an energy boost, or you’re looking to optimise recovery, there are several flavours of MyProtein’s signature protein powder (whey and vegan alike) to keep you going.

This includes a standout Cinnamon Danish option that instantly elevated my overnight oats to a delicious cinnamon bun pudding flavour.

We also loved these Toffee Flavour Drops, which are great for sweetening coffee without adding calories[/caption]

Advent Calendar, £59.99 (worth £83.99) from Myprotein

There’s a great range of protein bars too, with the Cookies and Cream bar being a personal favourite — it tastes as good as any chocolate bar I’ve had, but without derailing my macros.

Another product that deserves a special mention is the Toffee Flavour Drops, which have become my new go-to for sweetening coffee without the extra calories you’d get in sugar or honey.

The Multivitamin Gummies are a great addition too; I’m terrible at remembering to take my vitamins so transforming them into a delicious strawberry-flavoured sweet is a genius way to make sure I get my daily dose — especially helpful in cold and flu season!

My only criticism is that the MyProtein Advent Calendar is a little heavy on sweet protein bars.

This is great for anyone trying to replace a classic chocolate calendar with a healthier option, but not so good for those looking to hit their macros with a savoury snack.

Considering the huge variety available at MyVitamins now, I would expect more than one item from this range to be included, too.

Below is a full list of the products in the calendar.

How much is the MyProtein Advent Calendar?

The MyProtein Advent Calendar is £59.99, which certainly isn’t cheap, but it’s still way below what you might expect to pay for other premium calendars on the market.

MyProtein says the total value of the products inside is £83.99, so it’s not a huge discount at around 28% off.

However, that price includes the cost of manufacturing the calendar itself, which does look great and can be reused once you’ve made your way through every window.

MyProtein Advent calendar: the verdict

Advent Calendar, £59.99 (worth £83.99) from Myprotein

As someone who likes to stay on top of my nutrition, but still wants to enjoy what I eat, I’m really impressed with the MyProtein Advent Calendar.

It does a great job of giving you that indulgent, everyday treat feeling without compromising your health and wellness goals.

At £59.99, it costs less than you’d expect to pay when buying all the included products individually, and it works well as an affordable gift for your fitness-obsessed friends and family during the holiday season.
