Moment Kamala Harris guzzles beer with Stephen Colbert on the Late Show as Trump slams VP for ‘gaslighting’ Americans

KAMALA Harris chugged a beer during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the latest pre-election stunt.

The Democratic presidential nominee cracked open a can of Miller High Life as she appeared on the CBS comedy show, but her appearance was slammed by her opponent Donald Trump.

Harris also branded her Republican challenger a “loser” before joking, “This is what happens when I drink.”

The Late Show slot was one of a blitz of media appearances made by the Vice President in recent days, following the Call Her Daddy podcast, ABC’s The View, CBS’s 60 Minutes, and Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show.

Colbert, 60, started the segment with Harris by talking about the so-called “vibes” of the election.

“When you first became the nominee and named Tim Walz as your vice president nominee, people were calling it the vibe election,” he said. “The vibes were all good.”

He added that voters picking their president “just want somebody they can have a beer with.”

Trump is famously teetotal.

“So would you like to have a beer with me?” Colbert asked Harris, 59. “So I can tell people what that’s like?”

Harris nodded before Colbert pulled out two cans of Miller High Life, brewed in the crucial swing state of Wisconsin.

Referring to the Veep’s choice of beer, Colbert admitted, “We asked ahead of time because I can’t just be giving a drink to the vice president of the United States without asking.”

Explaining her pick, Harris said, “Okay, the last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug,” referring to her husband Doug Emhoff.

As both took a sip, Harris repeated Miller High Life’s slogan “The champagne of beers,” before breaking out into her trademark laugh.

Colbert, who earlier this year attended an extravagant NYC fundraiser for President Joe Biden, also spent his monologue fact-checking claims by Trump and praising Harris.

Harris mocked Trump in response to Colbert’s question over whether her opponent had lost the 2020 election.

“I’m going to tell you what some of the people in my rallies – quite a few people show up, by the way – you know, when you lost millions of jobs, you lost manufacturing, you lost automotive plants, you lost the election,” she said.

“What does that make you? A loser.”

Allan Lichtman’s 2024 presidential election prediction

Renowned historian Allan Lichtman has accurately predicted the outcomes of presidential elections since 1984 using his 13 Keys to the White House algorithm. The scholar has revealed who he thinks will be inaugurated as the 47th president in January next year based on his system of true and false statements.

If six or more statements go against the White House party, they are projected to lose the presidential election.

Midterm elections: The Democrats suffered losses in the 2022 House elections, meaning the key turns false. (Harris 0-1 Trump)

There is no primary contest: This key turns in favor of Harris because the Democrats got “smart” and rallied behind the vice president after Joe Biden ended his campaign, according to Lichtman. (Harris 1-1 Trump)

The sitting president is seeking another term: This turns false because Biden suspended his re-election campaign. (Harris 1-2 Trump)

There is no third-party challenger: This statement is true because third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. needed to poll at 10% nationally, according to Lichtman. (Harris 2-2 Trump)

The short-term economy is strong: This key goes in favor of the White House Party. (Harris 3-2 Trump)

The long-term economic growth has been as good as the last two terms: This key also swings toward Harris. (Harris 4-2 Trump)

The White House Party has made major national policy changes: This key is also true, according to Lichtman’s theory. (Harris 5-2 Trump)

There is sustained social unrest during the term: College campus demonstrations have erupted in reaction to the Gaza conflict, but no protests have broken out that threaten the fabric of society. This means the key goes in Harris’ column. (Harris 6-2 Trump)

The White House is untainted by scandal: Despite House Republican efforts to impeach Joe Biden, they have been unable to pin a scandal on him. (Harris 7-2 Trump)

The incumbent is charismatic: Harris is not considered a Ronald Reagan or Franklin D. Roosevelt-like figure so the key is false. (Harris 7-3 Trump)

The challenger is uncharismatic: This key goes in favor of the White House party – even though Trump is a showman. (Harris 8-3 Trump)

Lichtman warned that the two foreign policy keys – whether there has been a major success or no failure – could flip either way.

But, even if both statements flipped against Harris, Trump would not have enough keys in his column to win the election.

She added, “This is what somebody at my rallies said. I thought it was funny,” before joking, “This is what happens when I drink beer!”

The Trump campaign slammed her appearance on the network comedy show.

“Kamala drinks a beer to show Americans how relatable she is, but she ends up looking like an out-of-touch elitist trying to gaslight everyone into thinking she’s one of them,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Trump has announced plans to hold a major rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden just over a week before Election Day.

The rally in the heavily Democrat city on October 27 will follow other planned mass events in Coachella, California, and Aurora, Colorado.
