Local preliminary competitions for Miss Mississippi are held throughout the state with the winners of each advancing on to the state competition.
On November 9— Miss Vicksburg, Miss Riverbend, and Miss Key to the South — will be held in Vicksburg. Mandy Harris, who serves as the co-director for all three competitions along with Racheal Hollowell, said ladies between the ages of 18-28 are eligible to compete in the Miss Competitions. The competitions will be held at 3 p.m., November 9 at the Parkside Playhouse Theatre, 101 Iowa Ave. Harris mentioned the Miss Vicksburg competition is a “closed pageant,” meaning contestants must either live, work, or attend school in Warren, Claiborne, Issaquena, or Sharkey counties.
“Miss Key to the South and Miss Riverbend are both open to anyone living in Mississippi,” she said. The four-step registration process can be found at the bottom of the website page. There is no deadline to register for the Miss Vicksburg, Miss Riverbend, or Miss Key to the South competitions. However, all contestants are required to wear the Rebel X Miss America Collab Red Collection fitness outfit. This fitness gear is available at rebelathletic.com/collections/curated-styles-for-miss-america-organization, and orders have been taking up to two weeks for delivery, which is why she is urging those interested in competing to not delay. The Teen Competition …The preliminary is back but only two preliminaries are having live competitions for Miss Mississippi Teen this year. “We are one of the two,” Harris said. We will crown three young ladies to compete in Miss Mississippi Teen this year. To compete for Teen, ladies must be between 14 and 18 years old.

The 2025 Miss America Competition and Miss America’s Teen Competition, where Miss Mississippi Becky Williams and Miss Mississippi’s Teen Brooke Bumgarner will compete for their respective national titles, will be held in conjunction again this year. Both competitions will be held December 31, 2024-January 5, 2025 at the Dr. Phillips Center of the Performing Arts in Orlando, Fla.
