Jordan Addison posted a cryptic message to his Instagram Story Saturday morning as the NFL’s Nov. 5 trade deadline approaches.
The second-year wideout has been less involved in Minnesota’s offense than in his rookie year, as he is averaging just 4.6 goals per game – compared to 6.4 last year.
And before Minnesota’s game with the Colts, Addison posted a photo of himself with the phrase “Free 3.”
The post caused some online to speculate that Addison wanted a trade.
However, it’s worth noting that Addison has been using the saying ever since he was drafted, as he wore a custom “Free 3” necklace during the April 2023 NFL Draft.

The motto, however, is one he has used at least since he was drafted last year. In April 2023, he wore a necklace with the saying.
In fact, one X user even stated that the phrase refers to the speedster who “gets loose scoring TDs.”
Addison also posted a photo of himself and teammate Justin Jefferson to his story.
Several wide receivers have already been moved before this trade deadline, with Davante Adams traded to the Jets, DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs and Amari Cooper to the Bills.
Rams wideout Cooper Kupp was also reportedly involved in trade talks, although coach Sean McVay indicated Thursday after his team’s win over the Vikings that the former Super Bowl MVP would remain with the franchise.
Addison is not part of that list of receivers to be traded — at least for now — and will look to help the 5-2 Vikings beat Indianapolis on Sunday.
In five games (he missed two with an ankle injury), Addison has 231 receiving yards and two total touchdowns.
