The Pohlad family says it plans to sell the Minnesota Twins after 40 years of ownership. The Twins won World Series titles in 1987 and 1991. They finally broke an 18-game postseason losing streak last year. They have been competitive in recent years — they went 87-75 and made the playoffs in 2023, winning a playoff series for the first time since 2002. But being close has been part of the frustration from fans that wanted the franchise to take another step. After massive spending cuts, they went 82-80 this season, missing the playoffs after a late collapse.
