He watched his beloved New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.

And the former NFL star admitted he was blown away by the start rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has made.

Nabers, 21, was selected No. 6 overall in this year’s NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

He has scored three touchdowns already and has the 35 catches for 386 yards.

“Malik Nabers is such a unique talent,” Strahan said on TNF.

“I came to training camp to see him, (Giants president) John Mara said he has the best skill set and body control we’ve seen since Odell Beckham Jr.

“That’s saying a lot because Odell is an incredible player.”

Nabers had 12 catches for 115 yards before leaving Thursday’s defeat against the Cowboys with a concussion.

The rookie caught two touchdown passes in the Week 3 win at the Cleveland Browns.

Strahan insisted, “This kid showed last week what he was capable of.

“If you put the ball in the air, more than likely he’s going to come down with it.

“The spinning catch for a touchdown in Cleveland showed how athletic and how great this kid is.

“And he’s somebody we hope to never see out of a Giants uniform for a long time.”

Nabers’ performances have also led to praise from Beckham Jr – New York’s last star receiver.

Michael Strahan’s NFL career

Michael Strahan is one of the most recognizable faces on television.

But he came into his media career off the back of a hugely successful stint in the NFL.

Strahan spent 14 years all with the New York Giants from 1993 to 2007.

He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2007 – ending the New England Patriots’ hopes of a perfect season.

Strahan was also a two-time NFL sacks leader and also won Defensive Player of the Year.

The ex-Giants star set the single-season sack record with 22.5 in 2001 – a feat which was matched by J.J. Watt exactly 20 years later.

He is one of the best defensive stars to have ever played the game – finishing with 141.5 career sacks and 854 tackles.

Beckham Jr. wrote on X, “I know I ain’t saying nothing we don’t all know but Malik Nabers is sick.”

Strahan is a member of Fox’s NFL coverage but made a surprise appearance on Amazon Prime.

He was there to promote his new documentary ‘The Evolution of the Black Quarterback.’

“I’m excited for everybody to see how far black quarterbacks have come,” Strahan said Thursday.

“It’s really not just a black quarterback story, it’s a celebration of players who went through so much.

“It’s the past guys, who inspired the current guys, who are going to inspire the future guys.

“To see the struggle that these guys went through – it’s actually a celebration.

“That’s what I love about it and I think it’s something the NFL can be proud of.”
