Detectives from the Elemoro Police Station of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 4-year-old niece.
The suspect, who was identified as Wahaab Ibrahim, was alleged to have committed the crime while the underage child’s her Aunt was away.
City and Crime gathered that the suspect allegedly took the little girl into his one room apartment and started abusing the girl.
It was learnt that the bubble burst when the child’s aunty noticed blood stains on her pant.
On inquiry, the little girl was said to have narrated her ordeal to her aunty, and demonstrated how the suspect took off her pant before inserting his hand into her private part.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police (SP), confirmed the arrest.
He said a case of defilement was transferred from Elemoro Police Station to the Gender Unit of the Command Headquarters around on September 6, 2024.
He said the complainant reported that on September 3, 2024, while she was away, her niece, a 4-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted by one Wahaab Ibrahim.
He said the complainant further stated that the suspect assaulted her niece by inserting his finger into her vagina.
“The child’s pant which was stained with blood was recovered and registered as exhibit. The suspect was arraigned in court on October 4, 2024,” he stated.
