MYSTERY surrounds the sudden closure of a major Ford dealership as no one knows why It’s been shut down.
The Evans Halshaw branch in Northwich, situated on Chester Way, Cheshire, confirmed the shutters had come down on the site for the last time via its Facebook page.

The closure also appears on the dealership’s business details on Google.
When The Sun Online called the Northwich branch’s telephone, the line was re-directed to the Altrincham dealership.
The Evans Halshaw website now provides “dealership closure FAQ help and advice” for the Northwich branch.
It is believed the site was permanently closed on October 15.
The last Facebook post the dealership made was on October 14 which advertised the new Ford Capri.
The post said: “Classic style, Unmatched Performance.
“The soul of the classic Ford Capri, reinvented with a new, modern design. A true classic that still turns heads today!”
No explanation as to why the dealership has closed has been given.
It is unclear if any job losses were made or if staff were transferred to another branch.
The Sun Online has approached Evans Halshaw for comment.
Ford declined to comment on the business of other companies, when contacted by The Sun Online.
Evans Halshaw, which is owned by US firm Lithia, holds dealerships for 10 brands, including Citroen, Dacia, DS, Ford, Hyundai, Kai, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault and Vauxhall.
Pendragon sold its brands which included Evans Halshaw, Stratstone and CarStore, for £250million in September 2023.
The Sun Online has also attempted to contact Lithia for comment.
In July this year, another major car dealership opened nine used car supermarkets.
Sytner Group has been working on repurposing its CarShop dealerships after the subsidiary brand was shut down in May.
Sytner, which is the UK’s second most profitable dealership franchise, will now open a set of Sytner Select stores to handle their used car retail operations.
It comes after a rival group inked a new deal to sell a major Japanese car brand in one of the UK’s biggest cities.
Meanwhile, another used car supermarket made a similar move to close select branches in a bid to boost sales elsewhere.
