LIAM Payne’s final single Teardrops revealed the heartbreaking challenges in his love life before his death.
The former One Direction star, 31, died on Wednesday afternoon (16th October 2024) after falling from his hotel balcony In Beunos Aires.

Liam was staying at Hotel CasaSur in the neighbourhood of Palermo and crowds of fans have flocked outside to pay their respects.
The pop star has a huge fan base after shooting to fame as part of One Direction on The X Factor in 2010, and later embarked on his solo career in 2017.
Liam has had a number of huge hits over the years, and he released his last solo single seven months ago Teardrops.
The chorus lyrics say: “Teardrops are falling down your face again, ’cause I don’t know how to love you when I am broken too.
“Maybe your words make sense, I could be the problem, I’m so sorry.
“I know we could just be friends, but I don’t know when we come down from this softly.”
Sharing the news on Instagram, he admitted that the song was “born from many tears”.
Liam said: “Teardrops is out now.
“This song is born from many tears, not all mine.
“I hope you love it like I do and not too many of you can relate.”
The tune placed at number 44 on the UK charts.
Speaking about the tune in a press release, Liam added: “Teardrops is about the vulnerability of heartbreak and the challenge of overcoming those moments,
“This song marks the start of a new beginning.
“There’s lots more to come in 2024.”
Liam had a number of relationships in the spotlight, with his most recent with Kate Cassidy. The pair started dating in 2022.
The singer also dated Maya Henry between 2018 and 2022.
Liam and ex Cheryl, who were together between 2015 and 2018, share a son called Bear, seven.
Liam’s death was confirmed yesterday afternoon.
His cause of death has since been released and he died instantly from multiple injuries including a fractured skull caused by his fall from a third floor hotel balcony.
Pablo Policicchio, the spokesperson for the security ministry of Buenos Aires, said police were called to the hotel by a worker about an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol“.
Witnesses at the hotel said Liam smashed his laptop and had to be carried back to his room in the erratic incident earlier in the day, TMZ reported.
Cops found Liam dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time) when they arrived.
A red tent was put up over the body as cops began the investigation into the tragic death.
The spokesperson for the local ambulance service said Liam’s death had been confirmed on the spot after he had fallen and suffered severe injuries.
Alberto Crescenti told local media: “The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur.
“At 5.11pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.
“There was no possibility of resuscitating him.”
