Liam Payne’s ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer has revealed she is ‘not mentally strong enough to face the reality of what happened’ as she broke her silence on the singer’s tragic death at the age of 31.
The One Direction singer plunged from the third floor into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, sparking a wave of tributes from across the showbiz world.
And Danielle took to Instagram on Saturday to share her tribute to Liam after the pair dated on and off from 2010 to 2012.
The model explained that she had taken time in recent days to process the news of the star’s death as she wrote: “Over time I will share more, but right now I don’t feel mentally strong enough to to face the reality of what happened’ .
Danielle described it as a “heartbreaking time” and explained that the past few days had become even more difficult due to negative comments from mean trolls.

She wrote, “Like all of us, I am grieving, and I need some time to do that privately.
“It’s a heartbreaking time, made so much more challenging by the negative and misinformed comments and preconceived judgments from those who don’t personally know me, Liam or anything else about our relationship over the past fourteen years.”
She concluded, “I’ll be back soon when I’m ready, but until then, take care of each other.”
While Danielle referenced the negative abuse she had suffered, she also thanked people for their supportive messages.
She said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to call, text or DM to send condolences and offer support.
“I’m so grateful and it’s helped more than you know.”
Danielle, who is now in a relationship and shares daughter Mia with Sonny Jay, dated Liam on and off from 2010 when they both met on the X Factor.
They split in 2012 but were thought to have done so enjoyed a very brief reconciliation in 2022.
Danielle described it as a “heartbreaking time” and explained that the past few days had become even more difficult due to negative comments from mean trolls.

During an interview in October 2012, Liam admitted he was “devastated” after splitting from Danielle.
Her tribute comes just a day after Cheryl also broke her silence on Liam’s death.
The Girls Aloud singer previously dated Liam for two years, with the pair welcoming their child, Bear Grey, into the world on March 22, 2017.
The grieving mother took to Instagram Friday evening to share her fears as she tries to “navigate this earth-shattering event.”
Her statement read: “As I try to navigate this earth-shattering event and process my own grief during this indescribably painful time.
“I would like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.
‘Liam wasn’t just a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a good friend and a father to our seven-year-old son.
‘A son who now has to face the reality that he will never see his father again.’

The pair first crossed paths during the hit talent show in 2008, but it wasn’t until 2016 that their relationship began.
They made their official red carpet debut at Eva Longoria’s Global Gift Gala in Paris that year, with Payne paying tribute to Cheryle with a tattoo of her eye on his arm.
On March 22, 2017, the Girls Aloud singer gave birth to their son Bear, before writing on Instagram: “On Wednesday Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy who looks like a dream.”
But a year later, in July, Cheryl and Liam announced their divorce.
Later in her statement, Cheryl kindly asked the public and media to “give Liam what little dignity he has left.”
She continued, “What disturbs my spirit most is that Bear will one day have access to the disgusting reporting and media exploitation we have seen over the past two days.
‘It breaks my heart further that I won’t be able to protect him from that in the future.
“I implore you to consider the usefulness of some of these reports, other than causing further harm to all those left behind to pick up the pieces.
“Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you want your own child or family to read them.
“Please give Liam what little dignity he has left after his death so he can somehow rest.”
Liam collapsed from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel courtyard in the Argentine capital on Wednesday before doctors confirmed his death.

Payne had arrived in South America with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy on September 30 and spent two weeks in Argentina after planning to spend “five days” there.
Police were called to the hotel after reports of an ‘aggressive man who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol’.
Shortly afterwards, workers heard a loud noise in the hotel courtyard before the Wolverhampton-born singer’s body was discovered just after 5pm local time.
Shocked fans gathered outside after police cordoned off the area as forensic examiners entered and exited the premises wearing white hazmat suits and blue gloves.
According to local media, the star allegedly ‘behaved erratically in the hotel lobby and broke his laptop’ before having to be ‘carried back to his room’.
