A CLOSE friend of Liam Payne has revealed the final messages he sent her in the hours before his tragic death.
The One Direction star sent his friend Jodie a pic of him in his hotel in Argentina – where he died on Wednesday night – and spoke to her the morning he died.
Liam, 31, messaged Jodie on Monday and asked her what she was doing to which she said she was at a gym with her son.
The singer replied “nice” before sharing a snap of him on the bed in his hotel room with a hand pressed to his forehead.
She replied “Sorry just home x.”
On Wednesday morning, just hours before the fatal fall from his balcony, Liam messaged again and asked if she was awake.
Jodie later replied around 8am and the pair messaged back and forth as he told her he was “chilling” in Argentina.
Jodie told Sky News: “I’m really close to Liam, we’ve been friends for years and he was away yesterday in Argentina and I think he just wanted to touch base and check I was okay, see how everyone was back at home.
“We speak near enough every day and have done for years. Obviously he’s always been there at times I’ve needed him even though he’s not local.”
