College GameDay was on campus ahead of a clash between the No. 3 Oregon Ducks and No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Host Rece Davis introduced the show on Saturday – which began at 6am local time under darkness.

And Corso was once again absent from the set just like last week in Berkeley, California.

Davis was joined by Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit.

Host Davis moved to reassure worried fans on Corso’s health.

“He’s not going to be here this week,” Davis said.

“He’s doing better. He’s been a little bit under the weather for the last couple of weeks.”

“Hoping he gets back with us very soon.”

Corso is known to have a soft spot for Oregon and the Duck mascot.

“I talked to LC this week,” Davis added.

“He wants to send his regards to his very good friend The Duck and the other thing.

“He’s got to be sorry and loving and seeing what this crowd’s about.”

Oregon won a thriller 32-31 to improve to 6-0 this season and send Ohio State to it’s first defeat.

College GameDay will be in Austin, Texas next weekend ahead of a clash between the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs.

It’s not yet known if Corso will be part of the show.

Pat McAfee’s playing days

Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.

The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.

McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.

He also missed the Week 0 show live from Dublin, Ireland in August.

“Corso’s absence means fewer signature headgear moments. Feel better soon,” one fan said.

“Corso is a legend,” another wrote.

“Been watching him since the first game day at ND/FSU in 93 but it’s time for him to retire.”

While a third added, “It might be time for Corso to retire. What a legend.”
