LeBron does breakdowns of NBA action from time to time, which always get good reception, and that has some wondering if he would make the jump into broadcasting.

The NBA legend appeared on the GoJo and Golic podcast, where he was questioned about a potential broadcasting career.

“Your breakdowns are incredible and your good buddy, Tom Brady… is in the booth now,” Mike Golic asked.

“With your breakdown, you ever think when you’re done you may end up in the booth, breaking down basketball?”

“You know, I don’t know — I definitely love the sport,” LeBron said.

“I love basketball, I love football. And I watch it not only as a fan but also just breaking down matchups, just things of that nature.

“I was brought into sports. When you grow up in Northeast Ohio, listen, you grow up in sports.

“It would be great. I see Tom Brady doing it. He’s been great so far. And, we will see. Even if it’s just a guest appearance.

“You know, one game or two, when I’m done playing.”

LeBron continued by sharing how much basketball has given to him, and he wants to give back.

“But it’s always fun to give back to the game,” he said.

“The game has given me so much. So if it’s basketball, if it’s football, if it’s whatever — I love the word sport.

“Because it’s given so much to me and my family and it’s only right I give back to it.”

Tom Brady has found success in his new role as a broadcaster, and he earned a big paycheck to go with it.

The former Patriot is signed on to a 10-year, $375 million with Fox Sports to give his analysis once a week.

Time for LeBron to retire?

“Not because I don’t want to see more of LeBron James, not because I don’t appreciate LeBron James.

“But I honestly believe deep down inside, the more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it’s going to hurt his legacy and the more it’s going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument.

“As long as he steps foot on that floor, every single season, there’s gonna expectations of him winning a championship.

“And when he don’t do that, we’re gonna be looking at him saying: ‘Well what happened now?’”

LeBron would likely earn something similar if he decided to go into broadcasting, as every NBA network would look to swoop him up.

However, he did mention that he would be happy to take up a smaller role in broadcasting with guest appearances and other such things.

LeBron is signed on with the Los Angeles Lakers through the 2025-26 season, so if he wanted to be a broadcaster, it would be a few years before he can start.

For now, LeBron will spend some time playing with his son Bronny James before hanging the jersey up for good.
