Lakeside Park in Granite Falls is temporarily closed to the public following significant damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene. The park has been deemed unsafe for public access and will remain closed until further notice.
High winds and heavy rain from the storm caused widespread damage to the park, bringing down numerous trees. Town staff personnel are working diligently to assess and repair the damage, but it will take time to ensure the area is safe. Granite Falls Parks & Rec Director Chad Raby thanked residents for their patience and cooperation until the park is restored to its former condition.
