As part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s physical access control enhancements, the VUMC key management policy and procedures have been revised, with changes to go into effect Jan. 1, 2025.
These policy and procedure changes are not applicable to Vanderbilt Health regional hospitals. For these locations, please refer to applicable regional hospital policy and procedures.
To support this change, an educational module has been created in the VUMC Learning Exchange to provide policy awareness, revised policy and procedure information and a link to enter and inventory VUMC issued brass keys that an individual has been provided (Note: exterior and interior building door keys only; not desk keys, file cabinet keys, locker keys, etc.).
This module will be assigned to VUMC staff, faculty, affiliates, and contingent workers in October via the Learning Exchange for completion by mid-December.
